Finance and Accounting
Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant plays a lead role in providing full scope general accounting for FDS Corporate Finance as well as financial and accounting analysis in support of FDS business operations and initiatives. Responsible for Accounting processes and analysis which may be complex and require a high level of Accounting and Finance knowledge.
Assists in managing the month-end close process.
Establishes schedule and facilitates close activities to meet the schedule.
Account analysis and reconciliation for balance sheet, income statement and cash flow.
Prepares and posts journal entries.
Responsible for maintaining fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
Performs financial and accounting analysis to support business planning and operational improvement initiatives.
Assists with annual budget development and analysis.
Financial analysis to support cap-x projects.
Supports business planning processes by preparing and presenting financial analytics in support of specific business initiatives and company strategy.
Participates in monthly inventory review process.
Works closely with Supply Chain to lead cycle count procedures:
Prepares cycle count reports;
Performs revenue recognition reviews.
Participates in the cash forecast process.
Researches, develops and maintains accounting practices and procedures in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
May serve as Accounting lead and point of escalation for Accounting issues.
Ensures that accounting practices conform to GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
Other adhoc financial and accounting analysis as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
CPA a plus.
A minimum of three years' of relevant experience as an Accountant, Financial Analyst or similar role.
Demonstrated skill in accounting and financial analysis in a manufacturing/assembly environment.
Prior accounting/financial analysis experience in manufacturing preferred.
Account reconciliation and journal entry experience is required.
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports.
Strong communication skills with ability to effectively interact with other departments, auditors, customers or other business associates.
Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.
Experience with MRP systems, Syspro experience is a plus.
High degree of commitment, initiative, flexibility and attention to detail.
Must have an analytical approach to problem solving.
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects at one time.
Excellent follow through and the ability to work in a fast paced and challenging entrepreneurial environment.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel as well as a variety of computer software applications in word processing, database, presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
This position typically does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Valid Driver's License may be required; CPA preferred but not required.
