Document Control Specialist
The Document Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate design and build information and other documentation required to support product build on all new and existing products for FDS, throughout the product life-cycle. In addition, as a member of the Quality team this position also assists with Quality related functions including internal audits, development of quality processes, and audit of existing processes, calibration of tooling and equipment.
Creates and accurately maintains documentation including but not limited to; Engineering Change Notices, Work Instructions, Service Bulletins, Product Manuals, Inspection documentation and other documentation to support product build and maintain compliance standards.
Follows established processes to support editing and release of approved documentation as necessary for daily operations, including creation, edit, release and revision control of all documentation.
Works closely with the Engineering and Prototype teams to ensure creation of accurate product drawings, specifications, as well as completion of accurate Bills of Material and Work Instructions (WI) on all products.
Maintains the Document Control Software and ensures availability of the latest revision and removal of obsolete documentation from document control shared drive.
Create and maintain product manuals for all products.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date drawings, BOMs, and WIs on all products.
Documents processes by creating and maintaining process flows via Vizio.
Coordinate and prioritize document review and approval.
Process ECNs including drawings, documents WIs and test instructions.
Work with marketing team to select photographs, drawings, diagrams and charts to illustrate material.
Work with the Sales team to keep an updated price sheet.
Maintain and control access to all document controlled documents.
Maintain and advance the Corrective Action Process (CAR) program
Perform internal audits required by the aerospace industry.
Manage and maintain supplier audits.
Coordinate and maintain the tool calibration process.

Bachelor’s degree; two-year technical degree; or High School diploma or equivalent, plus 4 years’ equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in document control, technical writing or engineering documentation or similar experience.
Must have excellent writing skills with ability to understand and convey technical concepts.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task with minimal direction.
Prior experience working in a manufacturing or assembly setting and knowledge of Engineering Change Notices, Product Manuals, Service Bulletins, Work Instructions etc.
Prior experience working in an environment subject to regulatory compliance (FAA regulatory experience a plus.)
Experience using an MRP system the uses work orders to plan and execute work. (Syspro experience a plus.)
Knowledge of FAA regulations.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics and 2D mechanical drawings.
ISO or AS9100 process and technical writing experience preferred.
Experience creating flow chart process and work instructions.
Prior experience in Aerospace or avionics.
Proficient in MSWord, Excel, Outlook, and Vizio. Syspro experience preferred.
